Guest Speaker: Ben Williams (Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust)

The Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust is an independent non-charitable trust.

Joseph Rowntree, was a philanthropist, Quaker, a Liberal and successful businessman, and his commitment to tackle the underlying causes of many social, economic and political ills. In 1904, he established three organisations each with its own distinct purpose: the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, the Village Trust (now the Joseph Rowntree Foundation) and the Joseph Rowntree Social Services Trust Ltd (JRSST) which, in 1990, became The Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust Ltd (JRRT).

Ben Williams, is a programme manager at JRRT, says:

“People are increasingly concerned about who influences our elections. ORG is credible, highly organised and very effective. The group’s work clearly aligns with our concerns over the integrity of our democratic processes.”
